who we are
About us
We are the grass-roots organization in Virginia that works to promote and preserve our food freedom so WE all have more food choices and Virginia farmers have more opportunity.
VICFA is a diverse non-partisan organization with members from all walks of life, from all over Virginia, united by a common goal: food freedom.

Burdensome government regulations that favor large corporate food industries, often prohibit the legal sale of many food products that could make the local food-scape more interesting and create more nutrient dense choices.
Direct unregulated sales between neighbors would increase the amount of nutritionally dense foods available for sale, enable small businesses to start up, and benefit your local community.

Unfortunately, the industrial agriculture lobbyists and the Virginia Farm Bureau do not agree with our position and do everything possible to thwart any bills in the Virginia General Assembly that would increase unregulated neighbor to neighbor trade in local food in Virginia.
We all deserve to have the freedom to choose and have access to good food for ourselves and our families. Changing the current industrial food status quo that limits those choices and protecting those freedoms won takes action, we invite you to take part.
