VICFA 2025 Winter Quarterly Meeting

Please mark the date for our Winter Quarter VICFA meeting on Sunday, December 14th. This meeting marks the beginning of the legislative session for us as we lay the groundwork for the upcoming 2026 General Assembly year.

In June at the Annual meeting, we voted to promote two bills that would open up more of the local food market and make it easier than ever for farmers to sell directly to you.

2026 Proposed Legislation

Direct On-Farm Sales Bill

That the people shall have the right to acquire, for their own consumption, farm or home-produced food, directly at the farm or home, with the consent of the farmer or home resident who produced it.

Additionally, we will ask for the cap on pickle sales in the code, § 3.2-5130, to be lifted.

This annual event brings together thousands of homeschooling families, educators, curriculum providers, and speakers from across Virginia and beyond for one of the nation’s largest homeschool conventions.
