These are usually on the 2nd Sunday of the month from 12-3pm in March, June, September, and December across the Commonwealth of Virginia. We meet in members homes and start with a potluck lunch. Everyone is invited to bring a dish to share. Board members are available to come and speak to groups interested in finding out more about VICFA.
The VICFA Annual Membership Meeting 2018:
This was held on June 10, 2018, at Polyface Farm, the home of the Salatin family. The meeting proceeded as usual with a delicious lunch, a review of the year, election of officers, board members and other business, then a tremendous storm appeared from nowhere with thunder, lightning, plus horizontal wind and rain which blew through the windbreak in the pavilion where the meeting was being held!
The meeting was temporarily halted as we huddled and waited for the storm to pass! Water started flowing over the gravel, shoes got wet, members got wet, papers blew away. Finally, the storm passed and members soaked and chilly, moved to the farm shop where we continued our discussion of current issues, ideas, and plans for the upcoming legislative session. We left Polyface promptly as the river was rising and no one wanted to be stranded at the farm. Thanks to Joel, Teresa and Lucille for hosting us, and the brave VICFA members who made it through the most exciting meeting ever!!
Our next Quarterly Meeting:
